After Sunday brunch the boy wanted a lemon tart from his local bakery. We walked down to Mabel’s, a quaint, bright and cheery space on Roncesvalles. Looking through the large window front, tables adorned bountiful baskets of freshly baked artisan breads. It took us a while to choose from the plethora of country-style squares and mini pies. Eyes wide and bellies full, we humbly walked home with a little white box containing a slightly sour and savoury lemon tart and an Orange Blondie – a clever, orange flavoured brownie textured square with citrus cream cheese topping. I might have found my mysteriously mislaid sweet tooth.
